Winter Wonderland Updates

As you may know, I am hosting Winter Wonderland on Sunday, December 13 at the RH School of Performing Arts (2542 East 83 Street). It will mark my first public event. I am so excited, especially, since I'm a winter baby and love to be in good holiday spirits!

Winter Wonderland is a holiday themed craft and activities event. Each child will receive a fabulous gift bag with cool prizes and a souvenir picture with Santa. There will be no charge for adults.

I am so happy to confirm that the Winter Wonderland is being presented in conjunction with the Frances Wright Agency, a branch of Allstate Insurance Co. and Thomas Cole, Assistant Vice President of Diamond Bank. Other exciting sponsors have signed on as well, but I cannot release that information just yet.

Early bird tickets will go on sale on November 27th thru November 30th. A portion of the proceeds from this event will benefit the RH School of Performing Arts.

UPDATE: Tickets go on sale Sunday, November 15.

Still Recuperating from Halloween

I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend, I know I did! I am still recovering from all the excitement of Halloween. I was planning a girly Thriller themed post, but I think you'll enjoy this awesome theme posted on my favorite blogs. Fabulous!

Tapas for Ta-Tas

My motto is "there's never a wrong reason to celebrate" and partying for a good cause is always the

wRight reason! October is breast cancer awareness month and the perfect opportunity for this Tapas for Ta Tas affair. You and your friends can get together to educate others about breast cancer in a unique and tasty way. Besides, there is nothing better than partying for a good cause!

Serve a variety of tapas or appetizer platters. Tapas can include shrimp, chicken, beef, fish, pork, and vegetables and can be served hot or cold. Usually small and mobile, these morsels will allow attendees to be social. Common tapas dishes are meatballs, cheeses, empanadas, and kabobs. You will need toothpicks to ration portions. Serve Nuvo cocktails to supplement the food.

Pour strawberry yogurt into cups and layer with chopped strawberries or kiwi and granola for something sweet.

You can find information on a variety of breast cancer awareness websites. You can contact local advocacy affiliates or your doctor for resources such as pamphlets, fact sheets, or premiums. I would suggest making it fun with trivia and quizzes.

For those in attendance, make a small donation to an awareness organization on their behalf, such as the Susan G. Komen Foundation or provide favor items that benefit research such as these keychains.

These pom-pom lanterns on Good Things Wedding Favors were simply adorable! Include various shades of pink (baby pink, coral, fuschia, etc.) and pink patterned napkins, table cloths, plates to break up the monotony, we don’t want it to look like (a Pepto Party, do we?) More of an intimate affair? Consider these beautiful paper bouquets over at Pop Flower Shop as centerpieces.

Cute+Edible=Brownie Pops

Occasionally, I come across something that is truly inspirational and I must type my fingertips off to blab about it! Party City has launched Favors In The City, a website dedicated to contemporary favors, favor kits, and party accessories. This is a great resource for people planning weddings, birthdays, and other celebrations on a budget.

During my browsing, I found these Brownie Pops. These chocolate dipped designs are elegant and the favors make for a unique treat for every occasion. The pops are wrapped in cellophane, but you get the option to pick out a ribbon of your choice.

Good idea, but too formal? These treats aren't limited to weddings. Try these animal themed brownie pops for a child's "farmhouse-themed" birthday parties. Pick up chick and sheep covered pops for a Easter themed celebration.

NOTE: When ordering edibles (especially chocolate) online, make sure you budget for express delivery to avoid melting and ensure some semblance of freshness.

Calling All Chicago Businesses and Business Owners!!!

It's not beginning to look a lot like CHRISTMAS, but preparation puts you closer to a perfect celebration (plus, I'm a Winter baby so the holidays are always on my mind)! I am so happy to announce that Wrightfully Social will host Winter Wonderland in December.

We want to bring an affordable holiday experience to Chicago and we need your help! We plan to have a photographer, pictures with Santa, crafts and activities for children. All are welcome to sponsor this event, we would love for bakeries, children's clothing stores, and recreational companies on Chicago's South Side to show support as this event will benefit the RH School of Performing Arts.

If you would like your company to participate in this event, please shoot us an email. We are super excited and making moves towards having a Wrightfully Social winter event!
