Prince Appreciation Party

This post is dedicated to my cousin (HAPPY BIRTHDAY) and good friend who just might be Prince's biggest fans! If you ever plan on throwing a regal party for a Prince fan, read the rest!
Obviously, I will recommend prominent purple decorations. Use various shades of gold (antique, polished, etc) to complement the purple, we don't want guests to think they are at a purple people eaters convention! Use these fabulously psychedelic plates and cutlery from Plum Party to punch up gold tablecloths!
I saw these Andy Warholesque Prince rubik cubes at a Glamorama after-party last year. Consider buying posters and framing them. Use them to emphasis special areas within the venue (i.e. gift or card table, food or bar areas, etc). With a little Photoshop tutorial, I created this Prince poster.
When you think of Prince, you think of pleasure and hedonism, so prepare fruit platters fit for royalty. Get a purple cake with gold lettering that reads "Until the end of time, we truly adore you! Happy Birthday!" Mix purple colored candles and tealight votives on tabletops.

If you are planning a psychedelic dinner party, use these plates from Plum Party to serve up entrees. You can create a desert area by placing premium M&Ms and other chocolates in colorful jeweled-toned bowls as Jennifer did over at the Hostess from the Mostess did here.

Play Prince all night, party-goers will get amped up by "Love Bizarre", "Musicology" and "1999". For a mellow setting spin "Diamonds and Pearls," "When Doves Cry", "Adore", and of course, "Purple Rain." Honestly, there is no way you can go wrong by bumping Prince!
